We at Hospira, Inc. feel rewarded by our hard work and take pride in knowing we’re on our individual career paths with a shared goal: Advancing wellness™, through the right people and the right products Primary Function: Reporting to the Manufacturing Maintenance Manager, this position provides technical support to the operation by analyzing line performance, identifying downtime trends and providing corrective actions to improve throughput, material loss, spare part usage, etc. Must be capable of supporting the maintenance function in the absence of supervisors and manager.
Must interface with project and process engineering for the execution of capital programs, facility and equipment upgrades.
Major Duties And Responsibilities: Must be able to exercise leadership/diplomacy in a team -oriented environment when coordinating and working with all levels of employees and contractors.
Must be able to manage assigned funding according to project commitments and budgetary commitments, to assist in development of plant capital plans for future facility/production improvements.
Must be capable to manage highly skilled personnel in testing, evaluating process changes, and equipment/facility repairs/equipment modification.
Identify opportunities for equipment, improvements, develop alternative solutions to potential problem areas and establish necessary contingency plans within budgetary constraints.
Independent decision making is an inherent part of responsibility of this position, once overall administrative guidelines and budgets are approved.
Analyze safety/industrial hygiene problem and corrective action.
Skills/Experience/Education: • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other related field, is required.
• An Understanding of basic equipment/facility operations.
• Minimum Experience: 5 – 7 years as a Maintenance Supervisor, Manufacturing Engineer, Process or Project Engineer.
