Senior Technical Writer

Accountabilities: Create and update documentation for our Aspen student information system software.
This includes planning, scheduling, researching, writing, and editing online and context-sensitive help, user guides, training materials, videos, release notes, Quick Reference cards, Marketing materials and knowledge base articles.
Expand and enhance existing documentation by researching technical support calls and adding real-life examples.
Complete documentation projects in a timely manner to meet deadlines for all deliverables.
Provide writing and editorial support to technical support, sales and marketing, and training groups as needed.
Provide valuable input into product usability, workflow, and feature design from an end user’s perspective
Successfully partner with software development team to create all documentation Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Writing, or Journalism 7+ years technical writing experience Ability to communicate complex technical issues in a clear and concise manner.
Advanced computer skills and ability to learn tools quickly.
Experience with Robo
Help, Captivate, and Publisher preferred.
Ability to understand and articulate the product’s technical requirements and usage and translate these into information that our customers, both technical and non-technical, can understand.
Excellent writing skills in relation to technical documentation including spelling, grammar, and structure.
Excellent verbal communication skills.
Commitment to ensure customer satisfaction by taking personal responsibility for service and quality.
Ability to follow through on issues.
Great attention to detail.
Great teamwork skills and ability to thrive in a team environment.
Adaptive, handling change responsively.
Talent, energy, and passion for working in a fast-paced, highly interactive development team environment.
